Fifty Shades Trilogy

One Day I came to work and one of the girls had asked me if I had read this book, "Fifty Shades of Grey". It had received lots of attention in the media that week/day and since I LOVE reading, she thought I might have already devoured it. She was wrong. However, I told her to give me her week off to read it and I would let her know if it was worthy of reading. Thank goodness that Friday was payday! I did read it (in 3 days) and flew through the whole series in just 2 weeks!

Fifty Shades of Grey- E L James
In her last semester of college, the week before finals, Anastasia gets drafted by her sick roommate Katherine to interview business mogul Christian Grey. He expects a Journalist who knows everything but gets shy, clumsy, book-smart Ana. He is taken by surprise and once the interview is over cannot get her off his mind. He seeks her out and attempts to court her. Both are new to this so there is humor in their attempts. Christian has extensive sexual expertise where Ana has none. When he propositions her to participate in his BDSM lifestyle, she is floored. After doing her research she talks to him, but every rule he has she questions. Their journey continues through romantic trips and sexual exploration until Ana realizes that she will not be able to fulfill what the over powerful Christian Grey needs.

Fifty Shades Darker- E L James
After ending the relationship with Grey, Ana decides to throw herself into her new job at SIP, a publishing house in Seattle. Neither can get their minds off the other, and since Christian is the one who dominates, he proposes a new arrangement. Unable to resist this, Ana agrees to reignite their sensual relationship. While Christian confronts his dark past and the way it has shaped him, Ana confronts her envy and anger for the women who have come before her. Slowly they learn to communicate, and Ana learns to deal with her megalomaniac control freak. Confronted with tragedy, both realize life would be moot without the other.

Fifty Shades Freed- E L James
Once the happy couple returns from their honeymoon, they have to return to reality and face the sabotages against Grey Enterprises that happened while they were away, and returning to reality which subsequently involves time apart. Controlling Christian doesn't like that Ana wanted to go out with Kate, but doing so saves her life. While out in Aspen, Kate becomes engaged to Christians brother which means the best friends will now be sisters. Tragedy hits Ana and she realizes how precious family is just in time to deal with the future of her family growing in her. Christian doesn't quite see eye to eye and visits his ex, and Ana decides to stand her ground on her beliefs. While they are in dispute over this her old boss kidnaps Mia, Christians sister, and in order to save her life Ana says she is leaving him. but because she is resourceful, she manages to get both of them saved, and the creep locked up without bail. Almost losing Ana again makes Christian realize that family is what he needs. He finally opens up to Ana revealing his past, closing the gap between them. They live happily ever after.
